NPGH LEADERs Fellowship Program Application 2023-2024
The NPGH LEADERs Fellowship Program is a 12-month clinical research training program for US & LMIC post-doctorate trainees and US doctoral students in the health professions, sponsored by the NIH Fogarty International Center.

Eligibility:
To apply for the program you must meet the following requirements:
- Have a mentor at a US institution within our consortium (Universities of Hawai’i, Michigan, Minnesota, Washington, and Indiana University) who is familiar with your work and who is aware of your Fogarty application.
- Have a mentor at one of our approved international partner sites who is aware of your Fogarty application.
- Available to dedicate 40 hours per week to research for 12-months at the international fellowship site. Outside clinical duties are now allowed during this period.
- Available to begin the fellowship in July 2023.
- Available to spend the 12-months at the fellowship site with limited travel away from the site.
- LMIC trainees will need to be available to spend 2- to 3-months of their fellowship at one of the US consortium universities to participate in additional training and fellowship activities. Please select the table to the right to learn more about short-term US training oppotunities.

- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of: the United States, Cameroon, Ghana, India, Kenya, Liberia, Nepal, Peru, Thailand, or Uganda
- Must conduct research at an approved site in country (list available on our website)
- US applicants must currently be enrolled in a doctoral/advanced degree program or have completed one in the last 5 years
- LMIC applicants must have completed a doctoral or advanced professional degree in the last 5 years
